Meals for Moms

Do you know pregnant and parenting students on campus? This activity is designed to provide prepared meals for pregnant and parenting mothers, especially following the weeks they return from the hospital.

  1. Gather a few individuals willing to prepare a series of meals for either the last few weeks of the pregnancy or the first few weeks after pregnancy.
  2. Prepare a menu and deliver the meals to the family, along with other essential items. (This could include diapers, formula, clothes, etc.)
  3. Follow up with the family throughout the weeks and ask if any essential items are needed.

RA Kits

Students for Life have prepared kits that you can present to your Residence Life Director and RA’s. Pregnancy Support Advocates

Having University professors and staff members involved in your mission can greatly expand your impact and influence on campus.

The idea of pregnancy support advocates is to have a handful of college staff members act as counselors whom students can go to anytime they find themselves in an unintended or crisis pregnancy.

The advocate will provide confidential information, counsel, and assistance to students who are pregnant or who think they might be.

The advocate should be approachable, respected, and known amongst students.

While the advocate may not be a health specialist or counselor, the idea is to create a sense of support on campus for pregnant and parenting students through these advocates.

Work with administration to identify these individuals and ask the prospective advocates if they would accept such a position.

If they accept this, advertise them on your college website and campus health center.

If you want to take your group to the next level as well as make a lasting impact on your campus, go to our Advanced Activities page and join the Pregnant on Campus Initiative.
