What is the Pregnant on Campus Initiative?

In September 2011, Students for Life of America (SFLA) launched a unique program called the Pregnant on Campus Initiative. This program is the first and only national campus outreach effort that focuses on transforming college campuses by providing resources to pregnant and parenting students.

Through the Pregnant on Campus Initiative, pro-life student groups across the country have brought hope and help to college campuses by identifying, improving, and expanding resources for pregnant and parenting students on their college campuses and in the surrounding community. These students are daily shaping their communities to be supportive, life-affirming environments for parenting students. They are providing real, tangible options for their peers. With the help of pro-life students, pregnant and parenting students can continue their education and embrace parenthood.

Today, SFLA works with over 1,000 pro-life student groups across the United States.  While the majority participate in some form of pregnancy resource outreach, over 140 college groups in 37 states and the District of Columbia have fully committed to the Pregnant on Campus Initiative by integrating the mission and goals of this Initiative into their individual groups’ missions and goals. These groups have shown an incredible passion and persistence in fighting for women and children around the country, and, through their actions, they have proved to be truly pro-life and pro-woman.
